Thompson-Ellis Consulting Receives Super Bowl XLIV NFL YET/Emerging Business Program Grant
April 2, 2010 - Thompson-Ellis Consulting is the proud recipient of the Super Bowl XLIV NFL Youth Education Town/Emerging Business program grant. This is the first of its kind and was made possible through a joint venture between the NFL Emerging Business program and NFL Charities.
The NFL YET/Emerging Business program grant will help facilitate and expand the legacy component that the NFL Emerging Business program leaves behind in each Super Bowl region. By creating a relationship between South Florida Emerging Businesses and the youth of the NFL YETs, the grant will pave the way for capitalizing and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in both the local minority businesses and the youth of the region.
“This is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community and contribute to the personal and professional development of our youth”, says Althia Ellis, President of Thompson-Ellis Consulting. Under the grant, the company will design and conduct a series of workshops for youth at the two South Florida Youth Education Towns (YETs): NFL YET Miami and NFL YET Fort Lauderdale.
YETs are educational and recreation centers constructed in Super Bowl host cities as the lasting legacies of the games. The workshops will focus on professional and character development in youth.
